GOVERNOR MIKE HUCKABEE TO PUBLISH BOOK WITH THE SENTINEL IMPRINT OF PENGUIN GROUP (USA)

Presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has agreed to publish his next book with the Sentinel imprint of Penguin Group (USA) Inc., it was announced today by Adrian Zackheim, president and publisher of the Sentinel and Portfolio imprints.

The currently untitled book will be published on November 18, 2008 and is being edited by Senior Editor Tim Sullivan. The deal was negotiated with Frank Breeden of Premiere Authors Literary Agency.

“We are delighted to be working with Governor Huckabee, the hottest rising star in the Republican Party,” said Mr. Zackheim. “After the dust settles on Election Day, the question will be what happens next. Governor Huckabee offers straight talk on how we can renew America through limited government and a sense of national community. He will also give his four million supporters the real inside story of how their amazing support ignited a grassroots movement.”

Despite a tiny budget and small staff, the Huckabee campaign drew passionate, hard working volunteers from all over the country. His fans included not only Evangelical Christians, but others who felt he was the only conservative who really shared their values and understood the needs of middle class and working class citizens. He won eight Republican contests, including the fiercely contested Iowa Caucuses, and came in a strong second or third in many other states.

Governor Huckabee’s book will lay out his optimistic vision for America’s future and explain how the conservative movement can return to its principles, unify its factions, and take back America.

Mike Huckabee served as the governor of Arkansas from 1996–2007 and as lieutenant governor from 1993–96. Before entering politics, he was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister and worked for twelve years as a full time pastor. He recently started a political action committee, HuckPAC, to extend his grassroots movement. He lives with his wife, Janet, in North Little Rock, Arkansas; they have three grown children.

Sentinel was founded in 2003 as an imprint within Penguin Group (USA) Inc., which is the U.S. member of the internationally renowned Penguin Group.
