To Toga Or Not To Toga?

Nothing gets by our readers:

Apparently the McCain campaign had the same idea.

Someone should tell them the ancient Greeks did not wear togas. The men

wore a form of tunic called a chiton. In the 5th century BC (the time

of the Parthenon) this would not have been white but some vivid color or

multi-colored.

When worn draped over one shoulder the chiton was called an exomie.

This style was worn by men for riding, work or exercise.

I’d suggest that Obama ride into his temple on horseback wearing say a

red and purple exomie with a greek key border..
