I wasn’t around for most of the day yesterday and didn’t really know what to say. I knew he was in a bad way (my Mom, who loved Tony dearly, had kept me in the loop). Still, the shock of it — the waste of it — hits hard. I don’t have anything new to say about the guy. He was a sweet, smart, decent man who clearly loved his family above all things while deeply adoring his country, friends and career with seemingly bottomless gusto. RIP.
