I wish I had something unique to add. He was just a great, great guy. I did not know him outside some appearances on his TV and radio shows, but then, when he was at the White House, he called me out of the blue to thank me over an NRO article I’d written a few years ago. What it was about is unimportant. The point is that he took time he didn’t really have to reach out to someone he didn’t really know to say a thank you he didn’t really owe … and after that let me bend his ear like an old friend. A great patriot, and a very fine man. God bless his family. RIP.
