For a guy who is relentlessly on the attack tonight, Kaine’s affect seems…odd. Even when discussing grave issues like the Virginia Tech shooting, he has this cockeyed grin on his face as if he can’t believe he just found the toy in the Cracker Jacks. And he never altered his tone of voice or facial expression while claiming that Donald Trump scares him to death. It’s hard to watch Kaine and come away feeling as if he feels anything he says. Which is one thing you could never say about Joe Biden.
