As I write, the Tories have got 206 seats, the Labour party 153 and the Lib Dems 30.  With a lot of safe rural seats to come in, the Tories are closing in on a very slim majority or the possibility of a workable minority government.  They have failed to win some very winnable seats, but also won some seeming no-hopers.  They did indeed win Oxford West from the pro-euthanasia, pro-animal testing Dr Evan Harris, which is quite a scalp, and have also defeated Jacqui Smith, the first ever female Home Secretary.  Meanwhile, the anti-Tory bias on the BBC is quite astonishing in its subtlety.
