Max Boot weighs in, and makes a point about FDR as well. Boot seems to assume that because most conservatives have “made their peace” with the New Deal–in the sense of not seeking its immediate abolition–it is therefore perfectly conservative to have created vast new government programs in the first place. I don’t think this move is legitimate.
