Several readers have emailed to make the bleeding obvious point that there’s no discrepancy between assuming that each of six Democrats has an above-50 percent probability of winning while all six of them have a below-50 percent chance of winning together. The joint probability is the multiple of the individual ones. The sad thing is, I was actually pretty good at math back when I was in school.
