If you haven’t already, please consider reading my cover article in the latest edition of National Review (which you can find here). Discussing the history and wonder of a fresh-cut Christmas tree, it’s a piece that came together with the combined talents of multiple editors, the brilliance of Roman Genn’s watercolors, and the indefatigable Eric Sailer, NR’s layout designer.
I first came to know National Review on my second deployment, a six-month cruise around the Korean Peninsula in 2017, and since that time, I have dreamt of seeing my name on the blue-bordered cover of the print magazine. To have that come about is . . . just really cool. So thank you, all, for your generosity. I’m halfway through my time as a Buckley Fellow now, and the readers have been a joy to interact with via the comment section and email correspondence.
Also, if you watch YouTube, Dominic Pino and I discussed ranked-choice voting. The combined Wisconsin-ness is palpably deferential.
Cheers!
