Jonah: When I was a young Physics professor in the early seventies,
a new student asked me if it could be possible to transmit human
beings via electromagnetic radiation over very long distances.
Although at the time I did not know where he had gotten this idiotic
idea, I did know that some sort of intellectual catastrophe was
afoot. Or perhaps a terrible beauty waiting to be born.
