After reading your post online, I remembered that GW Bush had been nominated for the Nobel Prize in 2002, so I checked it out. Turns out snopes had some details on it,and also dispelling a rumor that Bush had won in 2001.
There’s a great quote: “The deadline for Peace Prize nominations is February 1, and Bush wasn’t sworn in until January 20th. For President Bush, (or anyone else) to have produced accomplishments worthy of Nobel Prize recognition after a mere 11 days in office would have been a truly astounding feat indeed.”
