Trump Attacks Nikki Haley from the Left on Social Security, Medicare

Last week, I predicted that Donald Trump would likely attack Ron DeSantis from the left for his previous support for reforming Social Security and Medicare. Today, that’s exactly what he’s doing to Nikki Haley.

As Haley holds the first official events of her presidential campaign, the Trump team is out with a statement hitting “The Real Nikki Haley” on issues such as immigration, transgenderism, and Ukraine. But among the hits is that “Haley Supported Paul Ryan’s Plan for Entitlement Reform, Threatening Medicare and Social Security.”

All indications are that Trump is leaning into his support for the unsustainable status quo of these programs, and he is ready to attack rivals who have, at least in the past, advocated change.
