Trump Campaign Looking to Hire Staff in North Carolina

Donald Trump is seeking to build up a campaign team in North Carolina.

Trump’s campaign has reached out to top North Carolina Republican operatives about staffing up in the state, two North Carolina sources tell National Review.

The Tar Heel State is one of the states in talks to make a pledge to back the Republican nominee a requirement for any candidate seeking to appear on the ballot, Politico reported earlier this week. That could be a problem for Trump if he continues to entertain the possibility of running as an independent candidate.

North Carolina’s primary date is not officially set yet, but it is likely to be a winner-take-all primary on March 15.

Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks declined to comment.
