Sean Hannity and Donald Trump discuss whether it’s appropriate to accept donations from Saudi Arabia:
HANNITY: Would you have a — would you ever take money from a country that treats gays, lesbians, Jews and Christians that way?
TRUMP: Well, you don’t want to do that and…
HANNITY: And women?
TRUMP: — and if they knew about it, that would be one thing. And I assume they knew about it big league. But certainly they know about it now, so maybe they can give the money back. I’ve — I’ve actually called… (applause) I’ve actually called…
HANNITY: Wait a minute, they knew about it because that has been Saudi Arabia’s practice for years.
TRUMP: And you know what? Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. They certainly knew about (INAUDIBLE)…
HANNITY: You’re going to give Hillary the benefit of the doubt? I’m not. Okay, go ahead.
TRUMP: And but do you know what — you know what…
HANNITY: Yes?
TRUMP: They should give the money back. And I’ve been saying this for a long time. They should give the money back.
It’s a rare day when Hannity scoffs at one of Trump’s answers.
Let’s give the Clinton Foundation the benefit of the doubt that they didn’t know anything about the nature of the Saudi regime? That they simply didn’t know how Saudi Arabia’s government and culture treats women, gays, lesbians, Jews and Christians?
