His tone was measured, and he said his focus is going to be on the big issues of the economy and the border. There were headlines, understandably, about his saying that January 6 committee members should go to jail, but generally, when pressed on retaliatory prosecutions, he said he was going to focus on the future and not order anyone to pursue anyone. That could be a “who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?” dodge, but Trump sounded upbeat and future-oriented.
