Trumpism in Hollywood, or, Defacing the Defacers

Months ago, novelist Bret Easton Ellis issued this remarkable tweet: “Just back from a dinner in West Hollywood: shocked the majority of the table was voting for Trump but they would never admit it publicly.”

Got some more evidence of Hollywood Trumpism in my apartment building’s parking garage. Somebody had painted, on one of the garbage cans, “VIVA TRUMP.” But a couple of days later, somebody painted over the “T” and the “P,” so that the sentiment is now “VIVA  RUM .” Which is something I think a lot more Americans can endorse, when they consider the direction our country’s moving.
