Truth from the Left on Social Security

The Economic Policy Institute points out that Social Security has enough money to pay future retirees higher benefits than the ones today’s retirees get. That’s true–although not every other claim in this report is. But note the shifting standards. If a Republican proposes to reduce the growth of benefit levels to make the program solvent, I suspect that EPI is not going to say, “Well, at least benefits are still growing.” It’s going to denounce the Republican for seeking “savage cuts.”
