A reader sent me an e-mail with the subject “Guru.” It linked to this article, which begins, “To try and place the amazing Sarah Palin phenomenon, gurus have been reaching for historical analogues.” (Let me pause for a language note: “To try and place” — ugh. You’re not both trying and placing — you’re trying to place. But you know that, dear readers.) The article then names three “gurus” — Joe Klein, Richard Viguerie, and me.
My response: I’m not a guru, but I do like Indian food, a lot.
