TSA Lets Dummy Bomb Through Newark Airport

The Transportation Security Administration itself has demonstrated that airport security remains woefully incompetent despite the massive bureaucracy’s best efforts. On February 25, an undercover inspector from the agency’s special-operations team smuggled an improvised explosive device in his pants past the metal detector and a patdown at Newark Airport to board a commercial flight.

In fairness to the TSA, they did manage to catch one of the undercover operatives during the test: a female agent with an obviously suspicious “simulated IED inside her carry-on that was inside a child’s doll . . . with wires sticking out.”
