Given (a) the geographical scope of the disaster, (b) the number of
witnesses who must have been tourists with cameras/camcorders, (c) the kind
of money offered for dramatic pictures by hews organizations, I am surprised
that no “money shot” of the tsunami has shown up. I mean, a shot of a
20-foot wave (so we are told it was) actually coming ashore. The pictures I
have seen, while certainly horrifying enough, show a sort of tidal surge,
not a humongous high wave. Can anyone explain this?
And what about out at sea? A 20-foot wave travelling at 500 mph must be
something to see. Didn’t anyone take a picture?
