Turner, Long, and Maragos Qualify for N.Y. GOP Senate Primary

The New York State Republican party held its convention today, and three candidates, whom I noted yesterday, will be on the ballot for the June 26 primary: Wendy Long, Bob Turner, and Joe Maragos. In addition to the keynote by former governor George Pataki, each candidate delivered speeches, with Long garnering a standing ovation. The Republican leadership offered notably strong support for Turner.

On the first ballot, Long received 47 percent of the vote, Maragos 27, and Turner 25 (twenty-five percent is the cut off for the Republican ballot).

On Monday, the New York Conservative party will hold their convention.
