CPAC has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent weeks for not extending an invite to Republican governors Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell, as well as the conservative gay-rights group GOProud. But, the latest person to get a speaking slot has many people scratching their heads:
It is my great honor to be speaking at CPAC 2013. They are all about what's good for America.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 5, 2013
The Twitterverse noticed the inconsistency immediately. Christie, McDonnell, and GOProud weren’t offered spots because they were solid enough conservatives, but somehow Trump is?
So, "strongly pro-choice" Trump is okay at CPAC, but GOProud, Christie, and McDonnell aren't?

Folks insisting that #CPAC must be a gathering of litmus-tested conservatives gonna have to walk me through @realDonaldTrump invite.

Some users expressed their disappointment with CPAC, while others took to Twitter to mock the decision to invite the Donald.
Yuge mistake, CPAC. YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.

Remember, you can't spell "farce" without @CPAC. Except for the P. And the extra C. But still.

An unlikely source also chimed in on his thoughts on Trump’s invitation: baseball goofball Jose Canseco.
i would agree to speak at CPAC if i had more notice. but I am not a conservative and I am not a liberal. I am not a label I am an American
— Jose Canseco (@JoseCanseco) March 5, 2013
At this point, who knows? Maybe Canseco will an invite.
