Since Lileks mentioned the two Darrins in his e-mail to Jonah, this gives me an opportunity to point out several things about Bewitched. First, how about the fact that all the warlocks were gay (Paul Lynde, Maurice Evans) and the other witches had a very lesbian vibe (especially Agnes Moorehead, who called herself a “fundamentalist” Christian in interviews but was evidently, shall we say, not one)? Also, what on earth did Samantha see in Darrin? I, for one, think she should have run off with Larry Tate, who was not only more successful than Darrin, but in his magnificent ability to shift positions at a moment’s notice, was a clear precursor to Bill Clinton.
