Two Notes on One Quarter

1) Lady Gaga is good. I had never heard her. (I know.) Talented. But her “Star-Spangled Banner”? All about her. Not about the anthem or the country it sings. If you sing your own music, be as subjective as you want (within taste). But this music? It’s someone else’s. It’s something else.

2) That Doritos commercial, with the fetus? Pro-life? Not a meaningless blob of protoplasm?

Thus endeth my football commentary (“football” commentary).
