U. Michigan v. Voters

John’s Phi Beta Cons post on the University of Michigan’s plans for comprehensive legal challenges to MCRI is a must read.  Here is yet another issue on which elites are trying to use the courts to make an end run around the clearly expressed will of the voters.  The University of Michigan and its supporters had every opportunity to present their case to the people of Michigan, dominating the airwaves and outspending MCRI by a two-to-one margin.  And still MCRI won by a margin of 58 percent to 42 percent.  Yet now the University of Michigan wants to use the courts to sabotage democracy, waiting not even a day to announce its defiance.  Outrageous.  I’ve said it before today, but I say it now again.  Conservatives have got to direct financial support to the Center for Individual Rights, the organization that will go up against the University of Michigan’s outrageous attempt to defy the voters of the state of Michigan.
