“Uhhhh — Interesting”

The pre-spinning is underway here at the debate site in St. Louis.  Top Obama strategist was in the room doing a local TV interview.  Afterward, I asked him whether he had seen any of the Katie Couric interview with Sarah Palin.

“I caught a little of it,” Axelrod said.

“What did you think?”

“Uhhhh — interesting.”

“Could you elaborate?”

“Uhhhh — it was an interesting interview.  But let me say this.  I expect that Gov. Palin is going to be very effective tonight.  She’s been working hard at this, and I saw some of the debates from Alaska, and I thought she was very effective in those debates, so I’m not extrapolating from anything that might have happened on those interviews to what’s going to happen tonight, and I don’t think anybody else should, either.”
