Ulrich Muhe RIP

Bill Buckley called the German thriller The Lives of Others the best movie he has ever seen. I think it’s one of the greatest movies ever made, and certainly the best film of this decade. Sad news today about Ulrich Muhe, the actor who gave the astoundingly still and haunting central performance as the East German intelligence agent who undergoes a crisis of conscience in The Lives of Others. Muhe died of cancer over the weekend. He was only 54.
