I agree with Matt Yglesias and Josh Marshall, though a bit more with Yglesias.
Agricultural subsidies are increasingly becoming as indefensible morally as they are economically. I would just love to see Paul Wolfowitz lead a truly revolutionary approach to these issues whereby we killed the worst foreign aid programs in exchange for killing subsidies in Europe and America. Of course this is very unlikely for all sorts of reasons. It should also be noted that we spend mountains more on ag subsidies than we do on foreign aid, lest people assume I’m suggesting the amounts are even close to equal.
