Under Half of Voters Think Obama is Christian

Although President Obama has been in office four years, only 49 percent of Americans identify him as Christian, with 17 percent describing him as Muslim, according to a new Pew poll. Sixty percent identify Mitt Romney as Mormon.

And while Republicans have the highest percentage of people who think Obama is a Muslim (30 percent), there are independents (16 percent) and Democrats (8 percent) who think that as well.

Twenty-three percent of Democrats are uncomfortable with Romney’s faith, as are 18 percent of independents and 15 percent of Republicans.
