It doesn’t offend me, either, that the White House seems to be indirectly pressuring Sen. Brownback to commit to not filibustering against Miers. It just seems unnecessary. Does anyone really think that Brownback would do that? Given the Republican investment in the idea that filibusters of judicial nominees are illegitimate, it would be very hard for any large number of them to go down that route.
