In Impromptus today, I write about those church burnings – the church burnings around Tyler, Texas. There have been about ten of them now – ten since the beginning of the year. That’s kind of a lot, right? But these burnings have not really made national news, because there is no race angle. And, as I often remark, you need a race angle to be anything in America. Race is where it’s at.
A reader from Tyler writes, “I gladly accepted, but it was a stunning thing to be asked to ‘patrol’ around the church my wife and I attend, to look for anything suspicious.” Yes, that is a stunning thing. Two men have now been arrested in these arsons.
