Thanks for linking to your story about the Chambers farm. The county’s high-handed treatment of John Chambers is not inconsistent with the way it handles our great historical treasure. I grew up in Westminster and spent twelve years in their public schools without ever hearing a single word about Whittaker Chambers, much less that his home was only a stones’ throw way from some of our homes. A few years ago, I visited the county Historical Society to see what I could find about the farm. All they had for me was a hastily printed copy of the farm’s Wikipedia entry.
