UPDATE: Charges Dropped Against 8th-Grader Jared Marcum

It smarts to fall behind the news cycle — but this update is the best kind: Over the weekend Judge Eric O’Briant dropped the criminal obstruction charge against Jared Marcum, the Logan, W. Va., eighth-grader whose encounter with local police, spurred by his NRA T-shirt, nearly landed him in jail. Jared’s attorney, Ben White, calls the dismissal “a victory for common sense.”

My piece today details Jared’s case. And I’m happy to say that it is old news.
