Earlier today, I noted that Jay Leno had been booked to address the SHOT Show in Las Vegas in January, and I wrote that:
I look forward to Leno’s inevitably caving and to his writing a letter of apology to Moms Demand for having so much as considered the gig in the first place.
That was at 4.53pm. Mother Jones now reports:
Late Wednesday, Jay Leno said in a brief phone interview that he had called the National Shooting Sports Foundation to cancel his scheduled performance at the SHOT Show. He also said that he’d spoken with Po Murray of the Newtown Action Alliance to let her know. “I understand it’s Newtown, and of course I get it,” Leno told Mother Jones. “It’s just sometimes, mistakes get made.”
That was fast.
