Punches fly in Venezuelan parliament brawl

With tensions still high after Venezuela’s disputed election, in which Hugo Chávez’s hand-picked successor was named the winner, members of the Venezuelan parliament came to blows yesterday. Opposition leaders unfurled a banner declaring a “parliamentary coup” after the current pro-government leaders passed a measure denying the other side’s right to speak until they accept the Chavista, Nicolás Maduro, as the new president.
