Vermont Is Hell

From a reader:

Don’t listen to anybody who tells you anything good about the business climate in Vermont: they are liars. Vermont truly is Hell, in every way (health insurance, taxes, environmental regulations).

Killington wants to leave because the town’s restaurants, inns and other businesses send a reported $20 million a year to the State in sales and meal & room taxes — but get only about $1 million back in municipal and education aid (according to local reports).

While a bit comical, Killington’s move is, I think, laudable.

You have a standing invitation to either the local brewpub or the nearby wine bar for a chat about the sorry little state of Vermont.
