Victory Dances

This is nicely put, and I think I’m persuaded by it. From a reader:

Victory dances are for other cultures. Our culture does things

differently, in some ways more like the ancient Romans did.

Culture isn’t separable. Adopt the ways of another culture,

and you adopt part of that culture, abandoning your own.

The sobriety that makes victory dances & shooting in the air

unthinkable for US troops is also that which makes it possible

for a sniper to lie on a Fallujah roof without moving for hours,

until a jihadi lingers out of cover too long — and then the only

thing he moves is his trigger finger.

Think deeper upon victory dances. Some reading for your spare time.
