A View from Congress

A Republican in Congress called yesterday to express disappointment with the House GOP’s failure to get behind a simple repeal-Obamacare bill–and agreement with NRO’s editorial criticizing that decision. This member of Congress also complains that the decision was taken without “any conversation at the conference, at the [Republican] Study Committee, anywhere.” The caller, who did not wish to be identified (“I’m not looking for internecine warfare”), said that this lack of consultation and debate sits uneasily with the House GOP’s new “America Speaks Out” project: “They won’t listen to their own caucus members, let alone the American people.”
