Those words show why it’s not going to be easy for Republicans to keep Tom DeLay’s old seat in Texas.  But write-in candidate Shelley Sekula-Gibbs was once given up for dead, and now it looks like she might pull out a victory.  Along with the old Mark Foley seat in Florida, this is another case where the knee-jerk Washington reaction about the race might be wrong.  My new story is here .
