Senator Kyl’s piece on the conservatism of his senatorial colleague would have been a lot more helpful if he had tried to address the reservations that conservatives have about John McCain.  Knowing that many of us are still appalled at Senatory McCain’s involvement in “election reform” legislation that rides roughshod over the First Amendment, why didn’t he address the issue?   In your piece, on the other hand, Bill Simon deserves credit for taking on some of Rudy Guiliani’s rough spots head-on.
