I voted in McLean VA this morning at 7:10 and was #187. People have been streaming in all morning (I know since I live across the street from the polling place). BUT you would hope that people who live in the close-in suburbs of DC – those who aren’t diplomats! – could get off the couch and vote, so I am not sure how significant this is. For alot of these people, their jobs may be quite literally on the line!
My neighbor is on the precinct board, and is working the line with a hand-held computer offering to doublecheck that people are at the right precinct. I’ve not seen this before, and I think it is a great addition which, I would assume, would cut down on provisional ballots case through confusion.
