The Wages of Amnesty …

… may be political death. The Washington Times reports that the Republican National Committee is facing a 40 percent drop in small-donor contributions, partly because “many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call ‘amnesty’ for illegal aliens.”

And Mickey Kaus points out that “Amnesty Saxby” Chambliss may be vulnerable to a challenge from a black Enforcement-First Democrat who observes that “Clearly, a lot of it has to do with Saxby not being in touch with Georgians, and the prime example is the immigration issue.”
