C. S. Lewis scholar Michael Ward delivered the commencement address at Hillsdale College earlier this month. When he was done, the lady sitting next to me said, “I’ve been coming to these for 35 years, and that was the best I’ve heard.” I have only four of these events under my own belt, but something tells me that three decades from now, I’ll still be agreeing that Ward’s was the finest: It was funny, moving, and — remembering a thing that too many commencement speakers forget — directed at the graduates. Watch it here.
