Warm and Fuzzy Americana–Hey, But It’s True

A reader:

On my desk I have one of those “page-a-day” calendars, this one filled with

facts about America, historical trivia, etc. Today’s page, April 9, has a

picture of the flag, and these lines from Henry Ward Beecher:

“Not another flag has such an errand,

carrying everywhere, the world around,

such hope for freedom – such glorious tidings.”
