In the latest Rasmussen poll, South Dakota Democrat Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, after trailing her GOP opponent Kristi Noem all summer, suddenly shot to a two-point lead. Why? Maybe because she is pushing Noem on her past comments about wanting to “privatize” Medicare:
Today at the Mitchell Daily Republic Debate in the Corn Palace, Kristi Noem refused to explain her support for privatizing Medicare and rationing care for seniors. In May before the June primary, Noem said in a live chat with the Rapid City Journal that the “Roadmap” budget proposal authored by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) was the “right direction for our country to go.” The Ryan Budget is widely recognized for its revival of proposals to privatize Medicare and Social Security.
