Warren Buffett: ‘I’d Vote Yes’ on Keystone

One of President Obama’s biggest supporters thinks it’s time for the administration to approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

“I’d vote ‘yes,’” Warren Buffett told CNBC on Monday. “I don’t believe in the Keystone pipeline because of the jobs you would make building it — you can build anything and create jobs — I just believe it’s a useful pipeline.”

Buffett’s support of the pipeline comes after hundreds were arrested outside of the White House on Sunday as part of a demonstration against its construction. Opponents argue that the pipeline will harm the environment and exacerbate the impact of climate change. Meanwhile, its backers have criticized the administration for stalling on making a decision, even after the most recent State Department report finding that the pipeline would not alter global greenhouse-gas emissions.
