‘We Have to Talk to Them, Maybe in Certain Areas, Closing that Internet Up in Some Way.’

The entire Morning Jolt looks at the ramifications of Donald Trump’s keep-all-Muslims-out proposal, but let’s not forget his other eye-opening proposal from last night:

…Trump talked about “closing the Internet in some way,” explicitly dismissing concerns about freedom of speech.

“We’re losing a lot of people because of the Internet. And we have to do something. We have to go see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what’s happening. We have to talk to them, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way. Somebody will say, ‘oh, freedom of speech, freedom of speech.’ These are foolish people. We have a lot of foolish people. We have a lot of foolish people.”

Trumpies, your man has no idea what he is talking about. Bill Gates does not “really understand what’s happening,” Microsoft does not control the Internet, we do not need the U.S. government to ‘closing that Internet up in some way’ and it is not foolish to be concerned about freedom of speech.

In the last 24 hours, Donald Trump has said we need to bar all Muslims from entering the states through immigration, entry visas, tourist visas, and, at least according to his spokespeople, U.S. citizens of Muslim faith currently abroad; called for “closing that Internet up in some way”; deemed concerns about freedom of speech as foolish, and said he couldn’t say whether he would have supported or opposed internment of the Japanese during World War II. He is the first anti-Constitutional GOP presidential front-runner.
