We Have a Winner

Attorney General Martha Coakley has been declared the winner of the U.S. Senate Democratic primary, all but assuring that she will fill Senator Kennedy’s seat.

 

How she will vote? You could just count John Kerry’s votes twice and you’ll get the same result. As for how she will serve, she is thus far a particularly unimpressive pol — so lame that the Boston Globe couldn’t endorse her in good conscience (they gave an irrelevant endorsement to longshot Alan Khazei).

 

When asked for her foreign-policy credentials, for example, she lamely offered that her sister has traveled extensively abroad and lives in the Middle East.

 

Ms. Coakley’s sister, alas, was not on the ballot.
