Another important deadline has passed, and Minnesotans are still running into problems and delays on the state’s health-care exchange, MNsure.
Wednesday marked the last day residents could sign up for coverage starting February 1, but some are still unsure whether their payments have gone through. One man told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he selected a plan for his family more than a week ago, but that he wasn’t able to pay for it online and believes he missed out February coverage.
The program’s call center, an alternative to the website, has also had problems, with lengthy wait times. Leading up to the Wednesday deadline, callers waited an average of 67 minutes; before the December 31 deadline for coverage in the new year, callers were on the line as much as two hours on average.
While Minnesota has more than doubled its overall goal for Medicaid enrollments, the Pioneer Press reports that MNsure is falling well short of its goal for private-insurance coverage.
