If I had a dollar for everyone who has been skeptical about the John and Elizabeth Edwards Wendy’s story, I’d be typing from a mansion in Palm Springs today. Here’s one reader:
You’ll note in the article you posted about trying Osama in US Courts that the Kerry campaign stopped to eat at Wendy’s. You’ll also probably remember that Elizabeth Edwards made a point of telling that DNC that she and John celebrate their anniversaries at Wendy’s.
So why the sudden affection for the #3 burger joint? It’s an Ohio institution, and founder Dave Thomas is beloved in that state…By trying to identify themselves with Wendy’s, they hope to endear themselves to OH voters.
If you thought it sounded fishy that a multi-millionaire and his wife would celebrate anniversaries at a fast food joint, now you have even more reason to be skeptical.
